This project consisted of a major rehabilitation of 20 unoccupied units, new construction of 7 units, and reconfiguration of spaces to accommodate a semi-industrial kitchen, a communal living space, elevator, laundry, recreation room and offices. Specific work included all new HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. The facility is set in a dense Seattle neighborhood.
Buchanan adapted to the minimal storage space by ordering materials on an as-needed basis, and we worked with subs and vendors to manage service truck access.
This project was a creation of inviting community spaces. Included public funding from multiple funders.
